The Triennial catalogue went to print on Friday, out at Geon in East Tāmaki. The catalogue editor Jane, along with our designers from Inhouse Sarah and Arch, went out to do the press pass. They were checking the colour was correct and made a few small tweaks here and there.
The presses are enormous, very loud and extremely fast - they can print 10,000 A1 sheets an hour. They checked the cover first and added a bit more black just to intensify the gradation of colour. Then in the time they checked another sheet the entire cover was printed, and by the time they had finished it was on a pallet ready for binding. Check out the photos and get a sneak preview of the final design which is looking great.
